Southern California Edison EDGE Mentorship Program Graduate
For PCI’s work in Shaver Lake, California, being an SCE EDGE Mentorship Program Graduate – Utility Experience Supplier—an intensive, invitation-only program reserved for approved SCE contractors—reflects direct, first-hand expertise in how Southern California Edison plans, approves, and partners on infrastructure projects in high-risk, high-reliability environments. In a mountain community where wildfire mitigation, undergrounding, limited access, and weather-driven outages are everyday realities, this credential signals a deep command of utility coordination, safety standards, permitting, and SCE-specific supplier expectations. This level of utility insight and preparedness is what sets PCI apart from other mountain contractors.
Giving Back to the Community
What sets us apart.
Brent Pius and his family were integral to the Shaver Lake community. With over 26 years of living and working in the area, Brent established deep roots and fostered a strong sense of community and connection with his loved ones. Together, they participated in local events, including the Shaver Lake 4th of July fireworks show, which Brent helped bring to fruition. This occasion was a highlight for families in the community, and his family enjoyed celebrating alongside their neighbors.
In addition to community events, Brent's family shared his passion for sports and education. As he served as a sports coach and School Board member, his family supported his efforts to inspire young athletes and promote enriching educational opportunities. Their involvement in local organizations, such as the Shaver Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Museum of the Sierra, reflected a collective commitment to preserving the town's history and supporting local businesses. Together, Brent and his family exemplified the values of teamwork, community spirit, and dedication that helped make Shaver Lake a vibrant place to live.
Renovation of Evangelical Convenant Church of Kingsburg, California.
What sets us apart.
Kingsburg Evangelical Covenant Church is undergoing a comprehensive renovation to restore and enhance its historic facilities, with the project managed by PCI. This endeavor is particularly special for the Pius family, aligning with their passion for preserving the community's heritage. There are times when Pius Construction comes down from the mountain to work on projects close to their hearts, and this is one such project.
A key focus of the restoration is the stained glass windows, which are meticulously documented to preserve their historical and artistic significance. A new roof is installed to ensure the building's structural integrity and protect it from the elements. Repairs are also underway for the fascia boards and bell tower to address extensive water damage.
Every detail of the renovation has been carefully considered. For instance, PCI is stockpiled wood sourced from a dam, harvested around the same time as the Church's original construction. It was used on the Church project to replace damaged sections. This kind of attention to detail resonates deeply with the Pius family, as years ago, during a remodeling of the Church, supplies were repurposed to build Brent's parents' home in Reedley, CA, along the river. The past pastor occasionally stayed with the family, creating lasting memories that tether the Pius family to the Church. Additionally, Brent still has a ballot box from the Church in his current home, serving as a cherished reminder of the community's impact on his life.
These renovations reflect the Church's commitment to creating a welcoming environment for the community.
